ER Consultants and Cambridge University’s Judge Business School co-designed a partner development programme for a successful mid-tier international law firm.
Project Background
In late 2006 the CEO believed that the market was going to toughen and wanted to ensure that his business not only survived, but thrived. The performance of partners in this firm was critical to making this possible and prior to the programme there had been limited attention placed on their development beyond technical expertise.
ER Consultants Approach
Therefore, the focus of ER Consultants was to: maximize the team’s effectiveness as partners and in turn make the most of their associates; and enable the partners to develop quality relationships with their clients. The programme ran from January to November 2007 and was delivered to over 70 partners from all over the world. The programme was designed to be highly practical with a relentless focus on how learning could be applied in day to day work and assist partners in building their practices.
Success / Results
The evaluation from the programme has been excellent and ER Consultants continue to work with the firm via follow-ups that have been specifically requested by partners. Such was the success of the programme that in 2008 The Lawyer shortlisted the firm for an “Award for Excellence in Training, and the MCA gave Paolo Moscuzza the HR Consultant of the Year Award 2008, based on his work on this programme.
