Post Acquisition Integration - Engineering Consultants

ER Consultants worked with an International Engineering Consultancy to help them integrate two German companies into their business.

Project Background
Following the acquisition of two companies in Germany the Client sought to prepare for the integration of these businesses.  This required the assessment of existing talent from the original companies in order to build a strong top team for the integrated business.

ER Consultants Approach
Using information gained through key stakeholder interviews, the business strategy, the intended new structure, and our experience and knowledge of the Client, ER Consultants designed a two-day bilingual assessment and development centre.  This was conducted in cooperation with our ACE partner Management Partner in their offices in Stuttgart, Germany.  The senior managers from the three original businesses were assessed against the previously developed worldwide competency framework for the Client by a range of exercises to identify and start the development of the top team of the integrated company.  Personality profiling and team building elements were used to ensure individual development as well as teambuilding.

Success Factors
Following the assessment and development a comprehensive report and recommendations for each participant were shared and discussed with the Client and the Germany subsidiaries.  This informed the choice of the new top team and indicated the strengths and development needs of the individuals.  Based on our recommendations steps were undertaken to further develop their capability.
